A banker will tell you the best time to get a credit line is when you don’t need it, because once you need the credit it – you probably don’t have good credit (if you lost your job for example)- a typical catch-22.
Now is a good time to apply, you can lock in very low rates for ten years or more and best of all you can get credit lines with minimal (or no) fees. Think of a credit line as an insurance policy.
